SCPOR is located in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. Saskatoon is Saskatchewan’s largest city (about 250,000 people), situated on the banks of the South Saskatchewan River.
Saskatoon is home to the province’s largest university, the University of Saskatchewan, which features one of the most comprehensive clusters of life sciences colleges and research facilities in Canada.
The Saskatoon Health Region is the largest health region in Saskatchewan, serving approximately 318,000 local residents in more than 100 cities, towns, villages, rural municipalities and First Nations communities.
Saskatoon is also home to national research facilities, such as the Canadian Light Source synchrotron and VIDO-interVAC, one of Canada’s leading vaccine research and development facilities. Numerous research-based organizations are also located at Innovation Place, one of North America’s most successful university-based research parks.
