The Enrolment Services unit works with the campus community to proactively attract and enrol a student body whose size, quality and diversity reflect the University’s enrolment goals.

Admissions

Admissions facilitates the admission of Canadian and international students to direct entry programs by interpreting and setting admission and recognition of prior learning policy and procedures; evaluating the credentials of applications and rendering admissions decisions; and evaluating and assessing transfer credit. The unit also works with non direct entry programs to provide admission and international credentialing advice.

Undergraduate Recruitment

Undergraduate Recruitment promotes the recruitment of Canadian and international students to direct entry programs in a variety of ways: through outreach activities in high schools, regional colleges and transfer colleges; tours and on-campus events such as Experience US! and U-Start; targeted relationship marketing initiatives such as the Greystone Scholars Society; admissions counselling; communication strategies; memberships with Canadian Education Centres; and through programs for parents and guidance counsellors. These activities inform prospective students about the diverse, high-quality educational opportunities available at the U of S, and raise awareness of the University nationally and internationally—motivating students to choose the University of Saskatchewan for their post-secondary education.

Student Orientation

Student Orientation coordinates an informative program designed for students new to the University of Saskatchewan. This comprehensive event includes university-wide and college-specific information, and offers an enthusiastic welcome and introduction to campus life. Specific programming is available to Aboriginal and international students, and students with disabilities. Orientation events take place in both September and January.

Aboriginal Students’ Centre

The Aboriginal Students’ Centre provides programs and services designed to increase the retention and success rates of Aboriginal students at the University of Saskatchewan. Through a holistic approach, the Aboriginal Students’ Centre promotes spiritual, physical, emotional and mental well being.

International Student and Study Abroad Centre

The new International Student and Study Abroad Centre (ISSAC) brings together the International Student Office and Exchange and Study Abroad Office into one integrated unit.

The new centre is dedicated to fostering a welcoming, globally aware and engaged community at the U of S for students, staff and faculty. All students—domestic, international or those studying abroad—can participate in a unique international educational experience through the centre’s various programs and services.
