The Student Employment and Career Centre (SECC) contributes to student success by empowering students/alumni with the necessary tools, resources and supports to make a successful transition from education-to-career whether it be a summer, permanent, part-time, internship or volunteer opportunity. The SECC accomplishes this by:

  • assisting students/alumni with their job search via our comprehensive, online job posting system, drop-in resume Quick Talk sessions, one-on-one Mock Interviews and Employability Guides;
  • coordinating employment and career development outreach engagement activities for and in collaboration with various campus stakeholders;
  • acting as a liaison between employers and students by coordinating fee-for-service recruitment activities such as career fairs, on-campus interviews, and employer information sessions;
  • providing in-depth career development assistance through one-on-one Career Counselling appointments, Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) and Strong Interest Inventory (SII) workshops, a Career Library, and the interactive “Plan My Career” resource;
  • keeping stakeholders abreast on current employment and career development trends, strategies and topics via our Facebook, Twitter and Pinterest.
