The Student Employment and Career Centre (SECC) contributes to student success by empowering students/alumni with the necessary tools, resources and supports to make a successful transition from education-to-career whether it be a summer, permanent, part-time, internship or volunteer opportunities. The SECC accomplishes this by offering:

  • A range of job search supports including job postings through CareerLink, a comprehensive database of external job posting sites, and job search advice
  • CareerLink, where employers, staff, and faculty can post their job and volunteer opportunities for students and alumni, find out about upcoming career events, and register for a booth at one of our five career fairs
  • Multi-disciplinary and targeted career fairs and networking opportunities for students to engage with potential employers
  • Guidance in developing concise resumes, CVs and cover letters; and strong interview skills
  • A series of career and employment presentations and workshops in collaboration with various campus stakeholders
  • Access to career planning supports in the form of one-on-one career coaching and three comprehensive career assessments - Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI), Strong Interest Inventory (SII), and StrengthsFinder
  • A list of volunteer and internship opportunities including the Engineering Professional Internships Program (EPIP) in partnership with the College of Engineering
