When do Convocation ceremonies take place?

Fall Convocation is the fourth Saturday in October; there are two ceremonies. Spring Convocation is the first full week in June; currently there are six ceremonies (under review).

Do students need to apply to graduate?

Yes. Students must apply to graduate by August 31 and March 31 respectively through the online Application to Graduate form in PAWS. Eligibility for graduation is assessed by the individual Colleges.

Should students attend Convocation?

Absolutely! We hope all students will attend their Convocation; it is recognition of their accomplishments at the University of Saskatchewan and a chance to take part in the pomp and ceremony of the academic procession. Students are mailed advance notice of Fall and Spring Convocations and are invited to visit the Convocation website for full information about tickets, gown rental, etc.

Can instructors attend Convocation?

Instructors are encouraged to attend the ceremony. If you wish to attend, please contact the Convocation office convocation@usask.ca.
