What is Brain Awareness
Week?
Brain Awareness Week is organized
worldwide by
Dana Alliance for Brain Initiatives and
the
Society for Neuroscience to increase
public awareness about the progress, future, and benefits of brain
research.
Organizations and institutions throughout the
world stimulate
public interest in brain science through special events and educational
activities during the annual celebration of Brain Awareness Week.
In 2002, 1479 scientific institutions, patient
advocacy groups, government agencies, service groups, hospitals,
universities, K-12 schools and affiliates in 52 countries across 6
continents participated.
Some of the many Brain
Awareness Week events across Canada are listed below. More information
about BAW activites across the country can also be found in the Canadian
Association for Anatomy, Neurobiology and Cell Biology newsletter the

As a collaborative
effort, Brain Awareness Week provides its partners with a rare
opportunity to focus national and international attention on our common
interests in ways that our individual efforts seldom can.
The Saskatchewan Neuroscience Network is proud to
host the Brain Awareness Week activities this year from March 18-25th,
2007. Our program of events has been significantly expanded from
previous years, including a week long seminar series and many new
activities during the Brain BLAST (formerly Brain Show). Please check

2007 website
