BAW 2003 DINNER
The BAW 2002 dinner will be
held on Friday, March 7, 2003 beginning at
6:00 pm in the Regal Room of Centennial Auditorium.
Launch of BAW-2003.
Representatives from University
of Saskatchewan, Saskatoon District Health, voluntary and government health
agencies, patient advocacy and service groups as well as neuroscientists,
clinicians, students and health workers will attend. Main Speaker,
Dr. William Albritton, Dean of Medicine, University of Saskatchewan.

CHILDREN AND EPILEPSY WORKSHOP
This workshop will be held on
Saturday, March 8 and is organized by Epilepsy Saskatoon, Inc. It will
begin at 9:15 a.m. and end at 12:30 p.m. It will be held in the Kinsmen
Children's Centre, 1319 Colony St., Saskatoon. Free to Epilepsy Saskatoon
members!
Non-members : $10.00.
Space is limited, so register early! Child care is available.

Dr. Noel Lowry,
"Epilepsy Management"
Saskatoon's senior
pediatric neurologist and epileptologist will discuss the diagnosis and
treatment of epilepsy, including types of seizures, common medications
and their side effects, surgery and the ketogenic diet, followed by a question
and answer period.
Dr. Josephine Nanson, Ph.D.,
Registered Doctoral Psychologist
What parents need
to know about how epilepsy can affect children's behavior. Topics to be
covered will include:
Dealing with parents'
own reaction to diagnosis
Dealing with other family
members and neighbours
Dealing with the school
The relationship between
epilepsy and learning problems
Helping children to manage
their condition
Special issues in adolescence:
driving, drugs and alcohol, pregnancy
When to ask for help

BRAIN INJURY ASSOCIATION TOAST
BRUNCH
This brunch is organized by
the Saskatchewan Brain Injury Association.
Toasts will be proposed to
various groups and individuals in the field of acquired brain injury.
A highlight of the event will be a toast to honour neuroscientists.
It will be held in Prince
Albert at Marlborough Hotel on Sunday, March 9 at 12:00 p.m.

health agencies, interactive "brain games room" for all ages, model MRI,
rehabilitation equipment, on-going video movies, interactive computers,
"Jump Rope for Heart" -effect on the brain, the "Brain Walk" with 10 interactive
stations, helmet fitting booth, effect of music on brain function and therapy,
and much more
