SPH Student Wins WRTC Poster Competition

Robert Nesdole, a PhD student in the School of Public Health's Epidemiology program, won the poster competition at the annual Western Regional Training Centre (WRTC) for Health Services Research Fall Institute which took place in Regina, SK, on October 1-3, 2010.  His poster presentation was entitled "Physician Remuneration in Canada, 1999-2006."  The WRTC is an innovative and collaborative program designed to support the training of applied health services researchers across disciplines, sectors, and institutions, and equip them to address the research needs of a wide range of health-care policy makers.  This CIHR-funded training program attracts students from a broad range of disciplines and backgrounds, providing funding, relevant workshops and seminars, and unparalleled exposure to senior management and policy experts through field placements.  Nesdole is one of nine students at the U of S supported by the WRTC Program.  Robert subsequently went on to win the poster competition at the Saskatchewan Epidemiology Association's annual meeting, which was held in Saskatoon on October 21.
