"Getting admitted into the MPH program at the University of Saskatchewan is a dream come true for me. With an excellent cohort from diverse nations of the world and coming with excellent academic credentials,
rich background and experience; being selected as one of the SPH scholarship recipients makes the package all too good for me. I am grateful to God and the School of Public Health for this honor and I promise to do my best to live up to the expectation and additional responsibilities that come with the scholarship. The very beautiful campus of the University of Saskatchewan and its state-of-the art research facilities coupled with the abundance of seasoned faculty at the School of Public Health has provided a great platform for me to be trained to proffer solutions to public health issues in Saskatchewan, Canada and indeed the world." "Getting NEXEN Scholarship in Public Health is just like somebody holding my hand and saying that we are here to help you in whatever way we can. It made me felt appreciated, acknowledged and rewarded. The school has an amazingly dedicated faculty and support team who have carved out the MPH program with a precision of a ‘Surgeon’s Knife’ and believe me it is equally effective. Every day I can see new opportunities being created for us. Thank you so much for this wonderful experience. I will try my best to be worthy of the confidence shown in my abilities." I am deeply humbled to have this scholarship knowing the great opportunity that has come my way to affect hundreds, thousands and possibly millions of lives through the depth of the program in the School of Public Health; both in my local community and globally. This opportunity comes with great responsibility; I pray to do my part." Stanley Enebeli, first year MPH student.
"I feel so fortunate to have been chosen as a recipient of the SPH scholarship. When I attended School of Public Health as a MPH student, I found the courses were very challenging. It’s not always easy for the international students to study in a totally different environment, especially with the language barrier. However thanks to the SPH scholarship which allows for some of the financial burden to be taken off my shoulders, I can focus more on my education and do my best to achieve my academic goals. Once again, thanks so much for granting me the scholarship and for giving me the opportunity to let my dreams come true." Qingqing Lin, first year MPH student.

"I would like to express my gratitude to the School of Public Health for the bursary I have received. As I work towards my Master of Public Health degree, I am planning a global practicum that will allow me to
bring my nursing skills and public health knowledge to a resource-poor country, and work towards improving health outcomes for that population. This bursary will be used to assist me with the financial preparations for this practicum. In addition to receiving this financial encouragement towards my public health goals, I also want to acknowledge the support and inspiration I have received from faculty, staff, and student colleagues in the School of Public Health. This school is rich with experience and passion for public health, and I am so grateful to be part of it." Coleen Brooks, second year MPH student.

"Obtaining a Master’s degree in Public Health is a time consuming and demanding undertaking. The SPH Scholarship has afforded me the opportunity to devote more of my time and energy to my academic work and I am more than grateful for that. For me, this award is one that represents hard work, devotion to education and both academic and financial support to continue in my future career aspirations. The Master’s of Public Health program at the University of Saskatchewan has allowed me to grow as an individual as well as a future public health practitioner. Although my ultimate academic goals involve the acceptance into and completion of a professional degree as a Doctor of Medicine (MD), the MPH program has allowed me to more clearly see how the fields of medicine and public health can be integrated and work together. In addition, I aspire to participate in some global health work initiatives overseas and know wholeheartedly that my experience and education in public health will contribute greatly to me fulfilling this objective. Once again I would like to thank the SPH for allowing me to continue working towards the completion of my MPH degree. I am honoured and humbled that my dedicated professors and faculty in the School of Public Health have seen the potential in me and my academic work. I will continue to strive to do both myself and the school proud – for now and for the future." Matthew Feldman, second year MPH student.

"During my first year of the MPH degree I dedicated myself to learning the field to the best of my ability. We were exposed to diverse topics, such as biostatistics, epidemiology, policy, program planning, health promotion, and biology. My goal was to learn as much as I could about these topics, and then apply the newly acquired skills in my practicum. Being award the MPH Continuing Students Scholarship is a testament that I succeeded in my goal. The next step is to continue developing expertise in public health through MPH electives and practical experience; and I intend on pursuing that goal with the same enthusiasm. Thank you to the School of Public Health for recognizing my academic achievements during the first year of the MPH." Riley Glew, second year MPH student.
