Orientation BBQ

Friday, September 2, 4:30PM @ Thorvaldson Front Steps

Following the Orientation Day tours, we’re having a BBQ with food and beverages for the First Year students and their upper year buddies. While the first years enjoy their food and chat with their new classmates, the upper year buddies will be there to answer all of the questions our first years could have! This is a great chance to get a sense of how awesome our college is! NO 3rd/4th years allowed unless you’re a big buddy!

Welcome Back Beer Night

Monday, September 5, 7:00PM @ Whiskey Jacks (200, 3929 8 St E, Saskatoon)

Nothing says Welcome Back like a beer night! We all know you’re stoked to get back to the grind after an unreal summer and we know you played hard so you can get back to working hard. But what we don’t know is what you got up to this summer. Show us one thing you did this summer with your outfit. Go on a sweet vacation? Wear a souvenir. Watch too much Netflix? Dress up as your favorite Grey’s character. This year’s theme is “Something I Did This Summer” and the better the costumes, the better you’ll break the ice. It’s time to go all out. This year, we’re supplying three kegs to get the night going so show up early to avoid bottoms!

Potluck and Scavenger Hunt

Tuesday, September 6, 5:30PM @ MUMPS

something up from the grocery store on the way – just make sure you come hungry!  There will be lots of fun, good food, and first years will get a chance to meet their second year buddy if they haven’t yet. The potluck will start around 5:30-6:00.

Menu items are as follows:

1st year Pharmacy – Appetizers
1st year Nutrition – Salads
2nd year Pharmacy and Nutrition – Entrees
3rd year Pharmacy – Entrees
3rd year Nutrition – Desserts
4th year Pharmacy – Desserts

We also ask each person to bring their own plate and utensils as well as any serving utensils required for their dish.

**Please avoid items with peanuts & tree nuts**

**Please indicate if items are gluten free, vegetarian, etc.**

Following the potluck, at 7:30, will be our annual scavenger hunt!  Be ready to race around the city in a battle of creativity and speed! The hunt will start from the location of the potluck.  Make teams of 4-5, and make sure to bring a camera or phone so that you can get proof of completing the list.  Bring your list back to MUMPS for point tallying and awarding prizes!

Student-Faculty Golf Tournament

Wednesday, September 7, 2:30PM @ Moon Lake Golf Course

You don't want to miss the opportunity to tee off in a Texas Scramble-style tournament on a gorgeous September afternoon.  Students and faculty alike take the day to swing a few clubs and then gather at the clubhouse for a steak or chicken dinner and drinks.  Be sure to sign up early to guarantee your spot.

Canadian Tuxedo Pub Crawl

Saturday, September 10, 6:30PM @ Sutherland Bar/The Scuz (810 Central Ave, Saskatoon, SK)

It’s time to get inspired by Brittney and Justin’s good ole days and come get down in denim. The only rule of this pubcrawl is the more denim the better. Bring those questionable jorts hiding in your closet to the Scuz at 6:30PM and be ready to load the bus at 7:00PM for our next stops: Outlaws, Rain, the Hose, Pink and then back to Scuz.

Tickets are $10.

Bowling Night

Tuesday, September 13, 7:00PM @ Eastview Bowl (2929 Louise Street East, Saskatoon, SK)

We hope bowling is something that is right up your alley! Come ‘strike’ up some new friendships and add some fun to your Tuesdaynight.  We will meet at Eastview Bowl at 7:00. There is a restaurant and bar on site if you would like a few appetizers and a drink!

Beach Volleyball

Wednesday, September 14, 7:00PM @ Sutherland Bar/The Scuz (810 Central Ave, Saskatoon, SK)

Are you a member of Canada’s Olympic volleyball team?  Great! Never played before? Even better! The beach volleyball courts at the Sutherland Bar will be ours on Wednesday night to host some friendly competition. Volleyball will start at 7:00 and $10 will get you unlimited beer and a burger from 9:00-11:00.  Whatever your level, come have some fun in the sand and drink cheap beer!

Slo-Pitch

Thursday, September 15, 4:00PM @ Baseball Diamonds behind the Education Building

Another event where you don’t need to have experience to have a great time!  Join the action at the diamonds behind the Education Building and hit some home runs or just come to watch, catch some sun, and eat some sunflower seeds.  There will be one diamond booked for slo-pitch, and a second diamond for other activities such as frisbee, soccer, football, etc.  A BBQ will be provided by the SPNSS council during the games, so don’t forget to bring your appetite!

Rider Trip

Saturday, September 24

Hands down, this is one of the craziest events of the year.  Students pile in to a school bus and take the trip down to Regina costumed in Watermelon Green.  With the 2016-2017 season being the Farewell Season at Mosaic Stadium, you do not want to miss out on the opportunity to commute down South to join the sea of green.  When the lottery opens up in September, don't think twice about putting your name in.  This year will be legendary. Only 50 tickets available! Lottery closes September 19.
