EVENTS

October 19th @ Louis

The class of 2018 is putting on a steak dinner and concert at Louis on Thursday, October 19th as a part of fundraising for graduation.

This year, we have the Excipients, comprising of myself, Darren Reithmeier, Hishaam Bhimji and Geoff Sweatman. This will be the first time a pharmacy student band has taken the stage at Louis! 

Tickets Sales in the Arts Tunnel at:

Tuesday: 9:30 to 11:30 and 1:30 to 3:30
Wednesday: 9:30 to 11:30 and 1:30 to 2:30
Thursday: 9:30 to 11:30 and 1:30 to 3:30
Friday: 9:30 to 11:30 and 3:30 to 4:30

$30 gets you a dinner and concert ticket, while $20 gets you a concert ticket alone. There will also be a 50/50 draw later in the evening if you fancy yourself a gambler!

On Sunday, October 29, the Rx4 grad committee is hosting Ryde for Grad at Ryde YXE!

We are hosting two spin classes, one at 12pm and one at 1:30pm. Our spin instructor for both classes is the one and only Jaris, so it will be a great time!

The cost is $15 for one ryde and there will be post-ryde treats.

Also, since it is Halloween weekend, we are encouraging everyone to show a little Halloween spirit by dressing up in any way (small is probably better so you don't overheat!) and, if you do, you will be entered into a draw to win a prize (one per class). We are selling tickets in the lounge starting Monday and there are limited spots available (36 per ryde), so get your tickets sooner rather than later! The sale times are as follows:

Monday, October 23: 10:30 - 11:20 and 1:30 - 2:30
Tuesday, October 24: 9:30 - 11:20 and 1:30 - 2:30
Wednesday, October 25: 9:30 - 11:20 and 1:30 - 2:20

(Please note that if spots fill up prior to any of these times, we will not continue selling so get your tickets early!)

If you purchase a ticket, please go to the Ryde YXE website ahead of time and create a profile so that you can sign the waiver and agree to terms before the class. This saves a lot of time on the actual day. Please arrive to the class 10-15 minutes early. You do not have to bring your own shoes (the cost includes shoe rental which clip into the bike) but you can if you are more comfortable doing so. Whether you are a spin genius or have never set foot in a spin studio, it will be a lot of fun! Hope to see you there!

November 3rd @6PM at the Sutherland Hall

Stacherogy.. the unlikely yet specatular combination of mustaches, perogies and party people!

If you like delicious Ukrainian dishes, watching your classmates and professors slightly embarass themselves while competing for ultimate Stacherogy glory, or even if you just like to have a few adult beverages on a Friday night, this is the event for you!

Doors open at 6 pm, supper will be served at 6:30 pm with your entertainment to follow. IDs will be checked at the door.

PS: if you aren't one of the dynamic duos participating in the event this year but are still interested in having some time in the spotlight, there may be room for you yet! We will be asking for some crowd participation on the night of the event, so keep your ears open!

Tickets are $25 each and will be sold in the pharmacy lounge at the following times: 

Thursday October 26: 9:30-11:30

Friday October 27: 10:30-11:30

Monday October 30: 10:30-11:30

Tuesday October 31: 9:30-11:30

As you have all anxiously awaited, here are further details regardingBeer Olympics! 

Teams of 4 will compete against each other in a variety of drinking games. Choose your team and a country, and sign up on the following Google doc https://docs.google.com/document/d/1u0rxvYfyKaZWN9y4YnXkmJniowXnhlNdqeHQldrmyUc/edit?usp=sharing. Each team MUST have a different country, so pick your teammates and a country soon! Countries are first come, first serve - no fighting. 

The event will be held Thursday, November 9th at Dinos, at 906 Central Ave. Doors will open at 8:00 pm. The games will begin promptly at 8:30 pm.

Beer will be provided free of charge for a two hour period during the games.  If you prefer to drink something other than beer, there will be other drinks on special, for $4.50 all night long!

We will also be selling pizza by the slice, later in the evening. The cost will be $3/slice, or $5/two slices. Please bring change.

We will also be raffling off some bottles of booze for you to win! Cards will be sold for $2/card or $5 for 3 cards. Please have change for this as well.

Finally in order to attend this fun filled night you must purchase a ticket. Tickets will be $15 per person and sold the week prior to the Olympics exclusively (next week).  All teams must be signed up on the Google doc and all members purchased their ticket before the end of the day Friday, November 3rd, in order for the schedule to be made. There is a limit to the number of teams we can accommodate, so buy your ticket quick to ensure a spot!

We are coming to the end of our fundraising term and have one more great one for you! Paint Nite on November 30th at 7pm will take place at Sutherland Bar. Tickets cost $45 with $15 from each going to our grad class. 

Be sure to get your ticket quick as spots are limited and they fill up fast!

OTHER FUNDRAISERS

The Grad class is selling meat, cookies and other frozen food options from Prairie Meats with a portion of proceeds going towards the 2018 Grad Class.
There are also gift cards available to purchase if none of the options available entice you. 
You will have until October 13 to hand in your order forms either to your room rep or Kelsey Powell. This is perfect timing to bug your family over Thanksgiving for support and the orders will be distributed the week before November break!
Cheques can be made out BSP Grad 2018. Please provide exact change if paying by cash. 
One of the fundraisers for the pharmacy grad class this year is Mom’s Pantry. Mom’s Pantry is popular amongst fundraising groups as it provides many quality products that everyone can use in their homes.
Take a look at the attached order form, and see for yourselves. If you are interested in purchasing some products, just print off the order form and hand in the completed form to your room reps. Or if you wish, you may order online as well.

The Pharmacy Grad Class is excited to let you know about our latest fundraiser – H5 DOUGH TOGO! We will be selling a variety of homemade frozen dough balls that can be used to make pizza, calzones, cinnamon twists, bread sticks, soft pretzels, or whatever your heart desires.
