Wanuskewin Heritage Park helps create awareness, sensitivity and knowledge of the Northern Plains culture to both First Nation and non-First Nation visitors. Partnership, respect, tolerance, teaching, learning and understanding are the values upon which our Park was founded and under which we continue to operate today.
The growing presence of First Nations people as an important integral part of Western Canada’s social and economic fabric are strong indicators that Wanuskewin Heritage Park has just begun its journey in fulfilling the mandate which our founders (Elders) set out for us.
Visitors of all ages visit Wanuskewin Heritage Park to tour our visitor centre, walk our trails, partake in our educational and cultural programs and most of all gather and visit with family and friends.
Wanuskewin Heritage Park is the place to meet, share and learn through nature, history and each other
Wed. June 15 at 2:30pm.
The Canadian Light Source is Canada's national synchrotron facility, one of the largest science projects in Canadian history. Using the brilliant light generated by the facility, scientists perform a wide variety of basic and applied scientific experiments - from analyzing new materials, to generating microscopic structures. The synchrotron allows researchers to observe matter down to the atomic level.
Our scheduled tour takes place on Wednesday, June 15th at 2:30pm. The actual tour begins at 3:00 but we are allowing 20 minutes for participants to walk there and another 10 minutes to sign in. For safety and security reasons, all guests must sign in and out of the building, and there are no opportunities to rest while touring the interior of the facility.
This tour is limited to 30 people, first-come first-serve. If you are interested in signing up for a tour, please email jenn.fasthuber@usask.ca.
