2009 Study Conference5-9 May 2009LTS: Reading the Bible with Luther
Rev. Dr. Timothy Wengert teaches at LTSP(hiladelphia) and does research in Reformation History and the Lutheran Confessions. Among his many publications are two books on Philip Melanchthon: Human Freedom, Christian Righteousness (focusing on Melanchthon’s relationship with Erasmus) and Law and Gospel. In 1997, for the 500th anniversary of Melanchthon’s birth, he edited a book entitled Philip Melanchthon (1497-1560) and the Commentary. In February 2000, the city of Bretten, Germany (Melanchthon’s birth place) awarded him the Melanchthon Prize for contributions to the field of Reformation scholarship. He is associate editor of the Lutheran Quarterly and is currently a member of the ELCA United-Methodist dialog team.

Jane Barter Moulaison, Ph.D., is an Associate Professor of Church History and Theology at the University of Winnipeg. She is also a regular instructor at Saint John’s College. Her book, Lord, Giver of Life (Wilfrid Laurier University Press, 2007) was an appreciative contribution to the postliberal project of Lutheran theologian, George A. Lindbeck, through the development of the doctrine of the Holy Spirit. Jane is a lay reader, Sunday School teacher and regular preacher at Saint Mary Magdalene Anglican Church.
