Biography: A graduate of St. Andrew’s College, Lorne was ordained by The United Church of Canada and served the Saskatchewan pastoral charges of Gravelbourg and Zion United, Moose Jaw before entering public life as a member of the Saskatchewan legislature. First elected in 1986, Lorne served in the legislature until 2009 as MLA, Leader of the Opposition, Minister of Health, Minister of Social Services and Premier of Saskatchewan. Having occupied both pulpit and pew, church and legislature, Lorne understands how his own learning experience at St. Andrew’s College shaped and equipped him for both roles. Working with the St. Andrew’s community, Lorne seeks to ensure that a strong Prairie college will continue to offer the opportunity for women and men to become deeply rooted in biblical and theological study within the context of our time, to equip them for servant leadership in our church and society.
