BWC Project
Bringing a Women-Centered and Culturally Informed Approach to Fetal Alcohol Syndrome (FAS) Prevention
The BWC project targets Northern Saskatchewan First Nations Women. Our objectives are:
- to understand the experiences and knowledge of First Nations women
- to develop FAS prevention strategies
- to address current gaps in RAS research
This study is a partnership between IPHRC Co-Principal Investigator Dr. Caroline Tait, the Department of Native Studies at the University of Saskatchewan, Montreal Lake Cree Nation, Sturgeon Lake First Nation, and the Northern Inter-Tribal Health Authority.
The method of this study includes a collection of life histories and narratives from First Nations women and elders whose lives have been affected by Fetal Alcohol Syndrome.
