SETAC PNC 2011 Program Book

We just wanted to thank everyone who was able to attend the recent 2^nd annual chapter meeting held at the University of Winnipeg.  There were over 90 attendees, with folks coming in from Thunder Bay in the east to Lethbridge in the west to participate.  The scientific program was impressive and diverse, and the student presentations were very strong this year; and they were reflective of the region’s status as a training ground for emerging leaders in the discipline. The awards went to:

Best Platform: Amber Tompsett (USask)

Platform Runner-up: William Dew (Lakehead)

Best Poster: Sarah Beattie (UWinnipeg)

Poster Runner up: Ashley Elliot, Caitlin Bartel (UWinnipeg)

The evening concluded with a raucous celebratory banquet at the ballpark where the Winnipeg Goldeyes beat the Lincoln Saltdogs 9-5!  Thanks again to all those who helped to organize the meeting and to our keynote speakers for taking the time to join us.  We are already looking forward to the 3^rd annual meeting, which will be back in Saskatoon for 2012!
