University of Saskatchewan - Tutoring
At the University of Saskatchewan, subject-specific tutor listings are distributed across student societies, colleges, and departments, with the USSU having the most comprehensive tutor list on campus.
The management of these lists and the credentials required for joining the tutor listing is maintained by each individual unit. Please note that most of the tutor directories do not require that tutors have any formal credentials or minimal qualifications for being included on the listing.
We are working to gather an extensive collection of links to tutoring lists at the U of S and welcome your help. Please contact firstname.lastname@example.org if you know of a department tutor list in any subject.
USSU Tutor Registry
This is likely the most extensive and popular tutor listings on campus. It is maintained by the USSU and identifies tutors for almost any subject. To search for a tutor in your specific subject area, click the button that says 'Search the Tutor Registry' and click the scroll down box under 'Subject' to see what subjects are available.
Aboriginal Students' Centre
Students registered with the ASC are eligible to receive some funding support for tutoring. Visit the webpage to see criteria to receive tutoring and be a tutor, as well as a listing of the specific subjects in which tutoring is provided. The ASC also has an on-site ULC Writing Help Tutor who offers workshops and tutoring. Check with the ASC for more information.
Colleges and Departments
Another way to look for tutors is to contact department offices or department student societies directly. You can either go there in person, or phone the offices. Explain that you are looking for a tutor, and that you are wondering if they have any suggestions for people to contact.
College of Arts and Science
Some departments have web pages set up with tutor information:

The Department of Languages and Linguistics - http://artsandscience.usask.ca/languages - keeps a tutor list. Please contact the Department.

Pharmacy and Nutrition
The college puts on a 'Critical Skills Tutorial Session' about three weeks before the Critical Skills essay. They go over some past essay questions. It lasts about 1.5-2 hours. If you pay attention, you can get a good idea of what the college is looking for in the essay. If you have applied, the college will send you an email informing you of when and where this happens. ULC Writing Help tutors can give you an idea of how you are doing with your practice answers.
