Zoe A.

I'm from Saskatoon and am studying biology. I spent the spring 2010 term in Bodø, Norway taking classes in Marine Biology and animal behaviour. I am fascinated by nature, and enjoy being outside as much as possible. I love the arctic, brown cheese with jam, travelling, hiking, canoeing and camping.

Timothy B.

I have my B.A. in History, with a minor in Philosophy. Next year I will be in my second year of Commerce at the Edwards School of Business. I love to cook and read history and philosophy books. This is my first year in the PAL program.

Julie B.

This is my last year in Biomolecular Structural Studies. I am a hard worker, very optimistic, and easy-going. I enjoy teaching and I tend to laugh a lot.

Jordan B.

I was born in Prince Albert, SK to Swiss-Canadian parents. I love literature, music, playing instruments, traveling, hiking, camping, fencing (with swords, not with fences haha), and just hanging out. I'm in my third year at the U of S, pursuing an honours degree in English, and hoping to one day be a professor. I am really looking forward to my second year with the PAL program and can't wait to meet everyone!

Isaac B.

I am a fifth year Arts and Science student majoring in English and minoring in Astronomy. I hope to become a professional writer and teacher after finishing my degree. I am in my third year with the PAL Program.

Leslie B.

I am entering my final year in the College of Agriculture and Bioresources, majoring in Food and Bioproduct Sciences. Since I love to travel, last year I took a term studying in Uppsala, Sweden through the Study Abroad Program. This is my first year as a PAL mentor.

David B.

My name is David, and I am from Kinistino, Saskatchewan. I am a second-year Kinesiology student, and love the sports-focused classes I am taking. This is my first year in the PAL program.

Ashley B.

I am doing a double major in Sociology under the Aboriginal Justice and Criminology (ABJAC) program and Native Studies. I’m a Plains Cree from the Beardy’s and Okemasis First Nation. I have two turtles names “Feet” and “Chanski” and they enjoy pizza. Kidding! I play a little bit of chess, enjoy board games and video games, play D & D, and garden in my spare time.

Cherise C.

Hi, I'm entering my 4th year of university. I am pursuing a B.A. Honours in Psychology and I hope to one day attain my PhD. I love volunteering and am a humanitarian at heart. I am a huge animal lover and can't wait till I own my own little friend, especially a cat! I'm an avid reader, love to sing in the car, and listen to music while I get ready for the day.

Michelle C.

I am entering my fourth year of a Psychology Honours degree. After I am finished, I hope to get into Medicine or a Clinical Psychology program. I love to read, play the piano, figure skate and spend time at the lake.

Veronica C.

Although I was born in Saskatchewan, I’ve spent a lot of time moving around Western Canada and my heart remains in B.C. I’m currently a third-year philosophy major with interests laying primarily in legal theory, and aspirations to eventually earn a Ph. D. This is my first year with the PAL program and I’m excited to be a part of it. If you see me on campus and have any questions, don’t be shy!

Victoria C.

I’m in my second year of study and am majoring in Geography, though I also have a passion for English and the humanities. I enjoy laughing loudly, reading books on spirituality, doing yoga, and being outdoors. I’m really looking forward to being part of the PAL program, as it’s a great way to adjust to university life and meet new people.

Alex C.

Hi. My name's Alex, and I lost the 1995 Grade 2 Spelling Bee. I can lift well over a thousand pounds in the palm of my hand, provided they are all in large-denomination bills. I would like you to know that beneath all the sturm and batarangs, I'm just a little boy in a play-suit, crying for Mommy and Daddy. Yesterday I received a +12 boost to Pulchritude.

Allison D.

I am from a small farming community, Strasbourg, in Saskatchewan. I am in my final year of a three-year Studio Art degree, and plan to obtain an Education degree after this year. I had the opportunity to travel to Europe this past summer, and am excited about meeting people through the PAL program this year.

Stephanie D.

I grew up on a grain farm outside Borden, Saskatchewan. I am entering my second year of the Pre-Veterinary program in the College of Agriculture and Bioresources. My free time is spent training horses, working at vet clinics, and jogging.

Randi D.

Hello! My name is Randi (not short for anything!) and I am in my final year of psychology in the College of Arts and Science. My research interests include Aboriginal mental health, community development, and race-based prejudice. In my spare time I organize a book club, play slo-pitch, and hang out with friends.

Spencer D.

I am a second-year biochemistry major, considering a dual degree in computer science. I love snowboarding, reading, science, and music. I also like play the guitar, bass, piano, and sing. I’m really looking forward to helping other students reach their potential and excel in university!

Shannon D.

I am a fourth year psychology student and am interested in becoming involved with the community both within and outside of the University. I enjoy learning and keeping busy.

Shawn E.

I’m a fourth year student pursuing an honours degree in Economics. Born and raised in Saskatoon, I am planning to pursue a law degree after completion of my studies at the University of Saskatchewan. I’m very excited to participate in the PAL program for the 2010-2011 year.

Emily E.

I am in my third year at the U of S, majoring in physiology. I enjoy travelling, drawing, and grilled cheese sandwiches. I dislike itchy sweaters and early mornings.

Jamie F.

Iam in my second year of Kinesiology, and compete with the track and field team at the university. I am originally from the small town of Melfort, Saskatchewan.

Justin F.

I am in my fourth year of history, for history rules. Besides history, I enjoy travelling, camping, being active, wool socks, minesweeper, and attempting to make music. I do not enjoy sour cream or any other such gross things.

Andrew F.

Drew here. I’m a third-year student in the College of Agriculture and Bioresources. My studies focus on the genetics, breeding, and biotechnology of plants. I love Star Wars and epic skiing. Life is not complete without them.

Raea G.

My name is Raea and I am going into my fourth year of Agricultural Biology. I am both excited and terrified to say that I do not know what I want to do with this degree, but I am confident that I will find something to tie together my university experiences, interests and studies. I have spent the last few years on campus volunteering with everything from the International Student Buddy Program and Learning Communities, to helping with lambing at the campus farm and facepainting for kids at Bioscan. I think getting involved in groups and organizations on campus is one of the most rewarding things you can do with your free time. I also love chai lattes, sitting on rooftops, buskers, documentaries and smiles from toddlers.

Stephanie H.

I was born in Saskatoon and have lived here all my life, so it was an easy decision to attend the U of S. This is my fifth year here; I have a B.A. in history, and am currently majoring in accounting at the Edwards School of Business. When I'm not studying I enjoy reading, watching TV, and listening to music.

Steven H.

I am a second-year student with a major in computer science and a minor in entrepreneurship. I enjoy curling, playing piano, long walks on the beach, and am a big fan of the Olympics. I’m from Prince Albert and am looking forward to being a PAL this year.

Erin H.

Greetings! My name is Erin and I am a second-year Women and Gender Studies major. I enjoy adventures, absorbing knowledge, and volunteering at the USSU Women’s Centre. I am passionate about social justice, feminism, and music.

Ghassan H.

This is my second year in the PAL program. I am majoring in Biochemistry and seeking an honors degree and hope to get into medicine. I've always been interested in science, especially physics and biochemistry, and I'm trying to keep myself up-to-date with all the scientific developments. I like swimming and music and I want to be a DJ (seriously!).

Shayleen I.

I am currently taking my first year in the College of Education, learning how to teach Biology and English to high school students. My favourite pass-times include contemplating the reasons for existence, heart-felt discussions with friends, spending time with children including my four younger siblings, singing in the shower, and celebrating holidays. More than anything, I value the love that I have found in Jesus, and wish to love others in a similar manner.

Pavlo I.

I am in my second year of university and am taking classes about the physical manifestation of our soul... in other words the human body. I’m also a turntablelist and a graffiti artist, but my favorite past time is yoga and meditation.

Hello, my name is Jennifer and I am a second-year Kinesiology student. In the future I would like to become a professor. My hobbies include rowing, running, and biking.

Stephen J.

I am a fourth-year honors psychology student, who will also be completing an advanced certificate in philosophy in my fifth year. Although my main interests are in the fields of clinical psychology and basic behavioral science, I enjoy reading psychological, philosophical, religious, and poetic literature. My more relatable hobbies include science-fiction, playing online poker, squash, and golf.

I am a “veteran” student in my fourth year of the physics honors program with a second major in history. I am from Kenaston, Saskatchewan, and have also lived and played sports in Nanaimo, B.C. I really enjoy the lake in the summer, and playing all types of sports.

Hello there! I am in my third year of Arts and Science finishing up a Sociology Degree. Outside of school I love doing different sorts of volunteer work, practicing yoga, baking, reading and crocheting! This will be my second year as a PAL and I couldn't be more excited to get started!

Hello, my name is Emily L. and I am totally not a Cylon. I enjoy the finer things in life such as extensive geekery, foreign/horror films, and elaborate references pertaining to 90's popsongs. I am also a Political Studies student with an interest in international relations.

Kaylee L.

I am an ESB student working towards a triple major in Marketing, Operations and Management, and hope to obtain a Masters in Architecture after finishing my BCOMM. My outspoken Chinese personality and mad skills with numbers have put me in the role of a Math 121 SSS Coach. If I’m not curling, painting, or at a concert, I’m learning all I needs to know in life from M*A*S*H, the Golden Girls, and Seinfeld.

Kai L.

I am a Chinese young man who study in third year Civil Engineering. I am excited to be a PAL again. This PAL program has given me a lot of precious experience and opportunities, I will try my best to return good works.

Alex M.

I am entering my fourth [and final] year of an undergraduate degree program in the department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, majoring in Electrical Engineering, with emphasis on electronic devices and photonics. In addition to my educational interests, I enjoy hanging out with friends, playing guitar, watching movies, reading, relaxing at a pub, and going to the gym (when time and motivation synchronize), among other things. I look forward to being a part of PAL and hope to meet plenty of new people and share ideas with people from different cultural and academic backgrounds.

I am in my 4th and final year in the College of Agriculture. I am doing my honours in Agricultural Biology and minoring in field crop production. I love that my degree is allowing me to spend my summers working out in the field and putting my education to use. I also enjoy being active and playing sports like volleyball and slow pitch. I love to cook, watch movies, and hang out with friends. I am excited for the new school year and my second term with the PAL program!

Eden M.

I’m in my fourth and final year of Arts and Science. I’m doing an honors English degree with a minor in French. When I’m not writing essays and conjugating verbs, I can be found running or doing hot yoga.

Sarah M.

I am in my fourth year of studies in Regional and Urban Planning, and I am the president of the Planning Students’ Association (PSA). I love to learn and to read, and I enjoy cycling, spending time with animals, connecting with family and friends, and preparing/eating enticing food.

Noor M.

Hey, I am Noor. I have transferred my credits from my home country, Bangladesh, and have joined the Edwards School of Business as a second-year student. I have recently joined the Finance Students’ Society, as my major is Finance and I look forward to pursuing a degree in this area. My whole heart lies inside numbers, so it’s no wonder I love tutoring math students!

Jessica M.

This year, I am finishing up my bachelor's in English and applying for nursing. In what little spare time I have, I volunteer with Jr. High kids, appear in plays and hang out with my large family! To relax, I colour in colouring books and drink tea. An odd combo, I know, but you should try it! There is something strangely soothing about colouring between the lines.

I’m a grad student in Public Policy. I completed my B.A. with high honors in Public Administration in 2009. I’m from Regina originally. My interests outside of grad school include dancing, knitting, and going to rock concerts.

Alex M.

Major: Electrical Engineering & Computer Science Minor: Mathematics & Physics Alex is trying to finish all his Majors and Minors in his fourth-year study. Also, he would like to return to PAL and have fun @ ULC. He always plans the parties in 6 months ahead, the travelling routes in the next 5 years. Of course, he plans how to improve the attendance of his study session:-) He would also like to enjoy in physics, meditations, the game of go, piano & bamboo flute (if he got time…)

I am in my fourth year of study, but first year of Education. I plan to teach high school art and English. I play sports year-round, and love co-ed. soccer especially. My favorite art form is darkroom photography – I specialize in black and white.

I’m a third-year student in the College of Arts and Science, majoring in English. I adore sleeping, and have worked with draft horses for a number of years. My spare time is filled with video games, sunshine, and hanging out with friends.

Hey everyone. My name is Louis and I am from China. I’m entering my second year in the Edwards School of Business and want to major in accounting or get a double major. My interests include football, basketball, music, and movies. I’m very excited to be a PAL Peer Mentor, and am looking forward to meeting new people.

My name is Chelsea and I am a second year Arts and Science student. I am majoring in Physiology and hope to take my degree into the medicine field, either medicine or pharmacy. I am involved in the universities Rec sport programs, playing curling, basketball, broomball, and volleyball.

Victoria R.

I am a gardener by trade and an aspiring psychologist in the fall. Building communities that are both functional and beautiful is important to me as part of my goals and work. With a few years left of my psychology degree I'm taking my time to learn as much as I can through PAL, through school, through roommates and friends.

Luke S.

I’m in my second year of the International Studies ICC stream. My past education includes Library and Information Technology, and Studio Fine Arts. I remember when the library still used index cards, and now it’s possible for all your textbooks to be digital! There’s a lot to learn, so never stop asking questions.

I grew up in Caronport, Saskatchewan, and am currently in my second year at the U of S, looking to obtain a degree in physiology. When not at school or studying, you can find me running, snowboarding, or possibly napping.

I'm a passive/aggressive person. I’m passive in the way that I sit back and take in my surroundings without instigating much. And aggressive in the way that I play every position possible in hockey, and ride my Honda CBR 600 F4i.

My name is Angela. I was born in Iraq, but I grew up in Saskatoon. I am planning to become a high school teacher and major in religion.

I am a fourth year Edwards School of Business student. My major is in accounting. I am a fun, active, outgoing person who absolutely loves sports. In my free time I like to play sports such as campus touch football, ultimate frisbee, golf, and slow pitch. I also love watching hockey, football, and UFC.
