These workshops are led by Peer Assisted Learning (PAL) peer mentors: students just like you, who want to share their knowledge of how to study in University. 

Some of the workshops typically offered are

  • Getting started at the University
  • Time management
  • Reading and notetaking
  • Study skills and learning styles
  • Writing exams

Study skills workshops are offered from September to November, as well as January to March.

Long Night Against Procrastination: A Cross-Canada Event

Study Skills Workshop

Hit the books....all night with us!  Long Night Against Procrastination (LNAP) is national event organized by the Canadian Writing Centres Association, with over 15 institutions participating across Canada. All University of Saskatchewan students are welcome.

The ground floor of the Learning Commons in the Murray Library will be open all night, until 6:00 a.m., for full access to writing, library/research, and study skills help.  

In addition to academic support, there will be some giveawaysfree yoga  and  meditation breaks, outdoor walks, coffee, and healthy snacks.

LNAP 2014 is sponsored by the USSU, the University Learning Centrethe Library, U of S Peer Health MentorsStudent Crew (including SafeWalk), St. John Ambulance, and U of S Consumer Services.  This event is run in conjunction with the USSU's Mental Health Awareness Week events.
