Organizing Arguments

In organizing my arguments, why should I end with the strongest point?

Mostly it's to avoid an obvious, ineffective way of writing, which is when it's late at night, and you have a paper due the next day, and you're getting more and more tired, and you're trailing off, and the last two or three pages of your paper are the least persuasive, and it's just unsatisfying to get to the end of a paper and realize the best has already past. You want to keep reading; you want there to be something really compelling at the end as a last impression.
