Re: College of Arts and Science Minor in Chemistry
Summary of proposal:
Requirements for the Chemistry Minor: at least 21 credit units in Chemistry including CHEM 111, 221, 231, 242, 251, 252 and 3 credit units in Chemistry elective.
This program will give recognition for those students who would like to pursue chemistry in some depth but whose primary interest is in other areas.

Academic Programs Committee:
That the Committee recommend approval of the Minor in Chemistry as described in the proposal of April 14, 1999. (Oct. 20, 1999)
The Committee noted that the definition of minors will be discussed by the Committee during its review of the Nomenclature report later this year.
As there was little or no resource implications identified, the Budget Committee recommends approval of the Minor in Chemistry and the changes to the Major / Honours programs in Chemistry in the College of Arts and Science. (Nov. 15, 1999)
