Re: College of Arts and Science ï¿½ Minor in Political Studies
Summary of proposal: The Minor in Political Studies will require
the completion of 21 credit units in Political Studies, including at least
6 credit units at the 300-level or above.
Rationale: A Minor would be useful and attractive to students majoring
in several disciplines that are cognate with political studies. The
accumulated body of knowledge in Political Studies relates to disciplines
such as sociology, economics, anthropology and history and would contribute
to the studentsï¿½ understanding and analytical competence.
Impact and Relationships: The program will not affect the offerings
or programs of other departments or colleges.

The committee noted this is a reduced level of concentration in an existing
area of specialization.
