Re: College of Arts and Science � Double Honours in Physics
and another subject
Summary of proposal: Students taking Double Honours in Physics
and another subject will be required to complete PHYS 121.6, 223.3, 227.3,
251.3, 304.3, 341.3, 371.3, 381.3, 490.0, EP 271.3, 356.3, and either EP
311.3 or PHYS 323.3; MATH 110.3, 116.3, 338.6.
Rationale: This formalizes the Double Honours program which the
department has been permitting on a case-by-case basis. Students
have requested Double Honours in Physics and Biology, Physics and Computer
Science, and Physics and Philosophy. This program requires the same
courses as Honours physics courses to the end of the third year, plus the
Honours seminar.
Impact and Relationships: There will be no impact on programs in other
departments or colleges.
Additional resources required: No additional resources will be
required.

Academic Programs Committee: Approval recommended (March 7, 2001).
This is a reduced level of concentration in an existing area of specialization.
Budget Committee: This proposal has no budget implications.
