Re: College of Arts and Science Minor in Philosophy
Summary of proposal: In conjunction with any Three-year or Four-year
major or honours program, a Minor in Philosophy will consist of 24 credit
units in Philosophy.
Rationale: This minor responds to requests from students who
like philosophy enough to take several courses in it, but who are pursuing
degrees in other disciplines. The department decided on an unrestricted
minor of 24 credit units as representing a basic level of engagement with
and competence in abstract and critical reasoning.
Impact and Relationships: This proposal does not affect any other
program
Additional resources required: None
