SUBJECT: Update on subjects approved for admission

COUNCIL ACTION: For information only

In its April 15, 2004 report to Council, the Academic Programs Committee requested Council's approval for the calculation of a 70 percent admission average on five subjects. At the time, several members of Council asked that the list of acceptable courses be reconsidered by some colleges. Council approved the revision to the calculation of the admission average, and delegated to APC the authority to approve the subjects considered for admission.

The Student and Enrolment Services Division has consulted with colleges, particularly with the College of Education, and developed the attached wording to cover the issues raised by the practical and applied arts courses for Education's direct entry programs. The Academic Programs Committee approved the following list at its June 11, 2004 meeting.
