SUBJECT: Items for Information regarding Physics, Nursing
COUNCIL ACTION: For information only
The Academic Programs Committee is reporting to Council on the approval of two items:
1. Approval of a zero-credit-unit Special Topics graduate studies course.
Under its authority to approve exceptions to the Special Topics Courses policy, the Committee approved at its Sept. 10, 2004 meeting the offering of PHYS 898.0 Special Topics in Physics: Communications skills for Physicists as a zero-credit-unit graduate course.
2. Approval of additional credit units in the Bachelor of Science in Nursing program.
The College of Nursing requested APC approval to add three credit units in total to the BSN degree program. The College intends to replace NEPS 420.3 Partnerships with Community, with two new courses: NEPS 426.3 Partnerships with Community: Theory and NEPS 427.3 Partnerships with Community: Clinical. The Academic Programs Committee approved this change at its Oct. 3, 2004 meeting. The details of this change are attached.
