SUBJECT: Procedures for Cross-College Minors
DECISION REQUESTED: That Council approve the attached procedure for the development and approval of cross-college minors
Summary:
The Academic Programs Committee of Council reviewed several submissions this winter for new minors offered by departments within one college to students in another college. There is no formal mechanism to deal with these types of proposals. Following discussions with some of the colleges developing these minors, APC has written a new procedure to clarify the academic responsibility for the content of such programs, and also to require joint submission from both colleges involved. This policy was circulated in draft form to all colleges, and now incorporates several of the revisions suggested.
