This workshop is for faculty, staff and students who are interested in learning more about university judicial processes, such as student conduct and appeal hearing boards. In particular, individuals who would find this workshop most useful are those who make decisions about student appeals, or who advise students about appeals. Information will also be handed out on university policies and procedures.
Dr. Lea Pennock is the University Secretary of the University of Saskatchewan, and is responsible for overall administration of university procedures for student discipline, standards of student conduct, and appeals. Lea is always ready to provide advice to colleges and individuals about conduct issues, and she has developed an educational program on fairness, natural justice, and best practices for dealing with appeals. Lea can also offer a more targeted version of this workshop on request to college academic affairs committees.
