Mandate and Responsibilities
Governance and committees - The Office of the University Secretary provides administrative support for the governance of the university, including the Board of Governors, Senate, General Academic Assembly and University Council.
Appeals - The Office administers procedures for student academic conduct and appeals, and for student non-academic conduct and administers faculty appeals as described in the collective agreement for denials of promotion and tenure.
Protocol and ceremonies -- The Office is responsible for university protocol and ceremonies, including investitures.
Searches and elections -- The Office is responsible for ensuring that elections to University Council and Senate are managed as required in The University of Saskatchewan Act 1995. Related responsibilities include supporting university searches for the President and for the University Chancellor, and maintaining the Search and Review Procedures for Senior Administrators.
Policies - The University Secretary is responsible for curatorial aspects of the administration of University of Saskatchewan Policies and provides assistance in interpreting university policies and matters of jurisdiction and governance related to policies.
Audit - Audit Services reports to the Audit committee of the Board of Governors through the University Secretary.
