Mandate and Responsibilities

The Office of the University Secretary provides administrative support for the governance of the university, including the Board of Governors, Senate, General Academic Assembly and University Council.

The Office administers University Council procedures for regulations for student academic misconduct and student appeals in academic matters, the Senate policy on student conduct in non-academic matters, and administers faculty appeals as described in the collective agreement for denials of promotion and tenure, and of sabbatical leaves. It is responsible for university protocol and ceremonies, including investitures.

The University Secretary is responsible for curatorial aspects of the administration of University of Saskatchewan Policies and provides assistance in interpreting university policies and matters of jurisdiction and governance related to policies.

Audit Services reports to the Audit committee of the Board of Governors through the University Secretary.

Please note that effective May 1, 2010, the office of Global Relations is situated within the Office of the Vice-President Research.
