To achieve and maintain a workforce that reflects the diversity of our society. The workplace would ideally be a discrimination-free environment, characterized by respect and equity.
An employment equity plan has been implemented which identifies measures for removing barriers to the recruitment, selection, promotion and retention of members of systemically disadvantaged groups, especially women, Aboriginal people, people with disabilities and visible minorities.
The Plan provides for the implementation of special measures and the application of reasonable accommodation to remedy the effects of discrimination. Full details are available from the Office of Employment Equity, Human Resources.
