To ensure that your visit goes smoothly, the WCVM Veterinary Medical Centre asks all of its clients (including clients who have been referred to the hospital) to schedule an appointment in advance.
Q. I get a busy signal when I call the WCVM clinic reception areas. What can I do?
At certain periods of the day, you might have some difficulty in getting through to the clinic reception areas because of telephone traffic volume. As an alternative, please fax a message to the appropriate clinic reception area (see above for fax numbers) and your message will be returned as soon as possible. If your call is urgent, please call 306-966-7103.
Q. What if I need to reschedule or cancel my appointment?
If you can not keep your original appointment, please make sure to call the appropriate reception area to reschedule or cancel so the hospital’s clinical team can plan to see another case in your place.
Q. My veterinarian referred my animal to the WCVM Veterinary Medical Centre. What do I need to do?
If you are a client who has been referred to the WCVM Veterinary Medical Centre, please call the appropriate clinic reception area (see above contact information) to schedule an appointment in advance. Please bring along referral instructions and any pertinent records from your veterinarian.

Q. How long will an appointment at the veterinary medical centre take?
Plan for your visit to take longer than an appointment with a private veterinarian. Since our facility is a veterinary medical centre, a senior veterinary student will complete an initial examination of your animal before you see the veterinarian.
Q. How much information will I receive during and after the visit?
The WCVM Veterinary Medical Centre's clinical team assigned to your case will explain your animal’s condition, treatment recommendations, prognosis, and charges for treatment and other services so you can make an informed choice about your animal's health care.
The WCVM Veterinary Teaching Hospital’s clinical team will also keep your regular veterinarian informed about diagnostic findings, decisions and discharge information.
