Q. What if I need to reschedule or cancel my appointment?

If you can not keep your original appointment, please make sure to call the appropriate reception area to reschedule or cancel so the hospital’s clinical team can plan to see another case in your place.

Q. My veterinarian referred my animal to the WCVM Veterinary Medical Centre. What do I need to do?

If you are a client who has been referred to the WCVM Veterinary Medical Centre, please call the appropriate clinic reception area (see above contact information) to schedule an appointment in advance. Please bring along referral instructions and any pertinent records from your veterinarian.

Q. Who will I meet at the WCVM Veterinary Medical Centre?

Since this is a veterinary teaching facility, a team of caregivers will meet you and your animal when you arrive at the WCVM Veterinary Medical Centre. The clinical team will include:

Q. How long will an appointment at the veterinary medical centre take?

Plan for your visit to take longer than an appointment with a private veterinarian. Since our facility is a veterinary medical centre, a senior veterinary student will complete an initial examination of your animal before you see the veterinarian.

Q. How much information will I receive during and after the visit?

The WCVM Veterinary Medical Centre's clinical team assigned to your case will explain your animal’s condition, treatment recommendations, prognosis, and charges for treatment and other services so you can make an informed choice about your animal's health care. They will provide you with an estimate of the cost, and they will request a deposit.

The WCVM Veterinary Medical Centre's clinical team will also keep your regular veterinarian informed about diagnostic findings, decisions and discharge information.

Q. Where is the WCVM Veterinary Medical Centre located?

The WCVM Veterinary Medical Centre is located on the University of Saskatchewan campus in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. Visit a map showing the location of the WCVM Veterinary Teaching Hospital on the U of S campus:
