Q. What animal species are treated through the VMC Field Service? 


Clinicians in the VMC Field Service department annually see about 30,000 animals during more than 3,600 farm and feedlot visits across Saskatchewan. While most of these animals are cattle and horses, Field Service clinicians also care for pigs, sheep, goats, deer, elk, bison, alpacas and llamas.

Q. What’s the difference between the VMC Field Service and a regular veterinary clinic?


The VMC Field Service department is part of the Western College of Veterinary Medicine. Besides caring for your animals, the VMC Field Service clinicians are teaching veterinary students about animal health in an on-the-farm or on-site setting.
