    Dr. Bianca Bauer is a board-certified specialist in veterinary ophthalmology (eye care) whose clinical work focuses on small and large animals. She is one of three veterinary ophthalmologists who operate the WCVM Veterinary Medical Centre's veterinary ophthalmology service.

    Originally from Ontario, Dr. Bauer received her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree from the Ontario Veterinary College (OVC) in 2002. Dr. Bauer then practised small animal medicine and surgery for three years in Toronto, Ont., after which she returned to the OVC for a one-year clinical internship.

    In 2006 Dr. Bauer came to Saskatchewan to undertake an ophthalmology residency and a Master of Science (MSc) degree at the WCVM.

    Dr. Bauer joined the WCVM faculty in 2010 as an assistant professor in the WCVM's Department of Small Animal Clinical Sciences. Dr. Bauer's research focuses on retinal dysplasia, glaucoma and equine recurrent uveitis (ERU or moon blindness).
