Animal Owners

The WCVM Veterinary Medical Centre's ophthalmology service is a referral-based service for small animal and large animal patients. Your local veterinarian may choose to consult with the WCVM ophthalmology service regarding your animal’s condition and possible treatment protocols.

At that point, your veterinarian may decide to refer your animal to the VMC's ophthalmology service.

Orthopedic Foundation for Animals (OFA) Eye Certification Registry Examinations

OFA Eye Certification Registry examinations are ophthalmic exams performed by diplomates of the American College of Veterinary Ophthalmologists (ACVO). The ophthalmologists assess dogs for the presence or absence of observable hereditary ocular disease. Eye certifications are an important part of the routine health screening practised by responsible dog breeders to produce healthy puppies.
