Provost Releases Third Integrated Plan for Review & Consultation
The following message was released on behalf of Brett Fairbairn, Provost and Vice-President Academic…
Colleagues,
I am pleased to announce that an initial draft of the Third Integrated Plan is now available at www.usask.ca/plan. Your views on this plan are important, and this is a critical stage in its development. Please take the time to read it, and to share and discuss it with your colleagues.
Over the next six weeks, a number of opportunities will be advertised for your continued engagement in this plan’s development, with consultations and discussion aimed at refining and confirming its content. I invite all members of our community to join me for a Town Hall presentation on this draft of the Third Integrated Plan followed by a Q&A session on January 24, from noon-1pm in Convocation Hall. This event will also be streamed live at www.usask.ca/plan. Members of University Council will have an opportunity to discuss this draft at the January 25 and February 16 meetings. Other opportunities for discussion can be arranged by contacting Pauline Melis, Assistant Provost, Institutional Planning and Assessment by email at uofs_plan@usask.ca or alternatively by calling 966-2489.
As you may know, the campus community has been actively engaged in developing this plan. We started planning it nearly fourteen months ago, with campus consultations in October 2010. The input from hundreds of people across campus – through ongoing committee participation and select seminars and workshops – produced our four “areas of focus”, and led ultimately to the series of strategies and commitments encapsulated within the current draft plan. This version of the university-level plan is also informed by the college, school, and unit plans and by the discussions with many members of the campus community over the past year.
I look forward to hearing your comments and suggestions for improvement. Questions and comments can be submitted online through a feedback form at www.usask.ca/plan.
Sincerely,
Brett Fairbairn
Provost and Vice-President Academic
