The Provost plays an integral role in the setting and achievement of the Strategic Directions and academic priorities of the University and the development and implementation of a multi-year budget framework that supports the University's priorities; is responsible for the overall supervision of the academic program concerning teaching, research, and service and the development of academic policy; and holds the primary responsibility for developing and implementing the institutional-level planning initiatives that are essential to the strategic positioning of the University of Saskatchewan.
