GIWS welcomes Jeffrey McDonnell, hydrology specialist

On July 1, the University of Saskatchewan welcomed world-renowned isotope hydrology specialist, Jeffrey McDonnell, as its newest faculty member in the School of Environment and Sustainability (SENS). Prior to joining SENS, Jeff was distinguished professor of hydrology and Richardson Chair in watershed science at Oregon State University (OSU). His research specialties include watershed hydrology, runoff processes, and modelling and isotope hydrology. He was also the director of the Institute for Water and Watersheds at OSU and ran a lab dedicated to developing new ways of measuring, understanding and predicting runoff generation. Jeff has been recognized for attracting high-quality students and for providing excellent mentorship and graduate student supervision. He is the latest faculty hired through the Canada Excellence Research Chair in Water Security program, and is affiliated with the Global Institute for Water Security.
