Subject: Do dogs need daylight From: Sam Gaines Date: Tue, 05 May 2009 17:22:31 +0000 To: Applied-ethology@sask.usask.ca Dear all, Would love to hear your thoughts about the following. Whilst there is clear evidence showing the detriment of high noise levels and extremes of temperature on dog welfare, I can't find any evidence showing that a dog's welfare would be compromised if it was not provided with periods of natural or artificial light i.e. if the dog was kept continually in the dark (as perceived by us or them ??!!). Is anyone aware of any work which looks at this ? Any and all relevant comments will be gratefully received.
