Duties include: velvetting (600 head), calfing(250 cows), weaning, fencing, haying, facility management. Two postdoctoral positions are available at Dr.Hyun Lillehoj’s laboratory at USDA-ARS, Beltsville, to study of disease resistance (Necrotic Entities), host-pathogen Interactions, development of alternative antibiotics, avian immunology and gastrolintestinal microbiome.
Applicants must be awarded a PhD within the last five years in immunology, microbiology, molecular biology or cell biology. Additional training (e.g. bioinformatics, Mothur/QIIME analysis) and other academic experience would be highly considerable. The applicants are also required to have strong public records and significant finding in the previous works.
Applicants should have strong immunology knowledgement with molecular biology background and experience of animal tissue culture, Flow cytometry analysis, HPLC, gene cloning, immunoblotting, enzyme assay and other techniques to characters the biochemical nature of proteins, also handling poultry.
This is a 2-year temporary position but renewal is possible pending on performance and funding availability.
