WCVM Veterinary Medical Centre Expansion

In 2004, the Western College of Veterinary Medicine began a major expansion and renovation of its facilities — a multi-phase project that was completed in 2011.

The WCVM Veterinary Medical Centre is an integral part of this infrastructure project. The centre's enhancements include:

• a two-storey addition with new space for specialized services, examination rooms, canine rehabilitation, clinic reception areas, teaching rooms and administrative offices.
• closed surgery areas in the large animal and small animal clinics
• biosecure wards for food animal and equine patients, as well as a new chute complex in the large animal clinical services area
• specialized areas for nuclear scintigraphy and computed tomography (CT).

It's been exciting to witness the opening of expanded and renovated facilities throughout WCVM — and we couldn't have done it without you! Through the dedicated support of individuals, organizations and industry, the College has raised more than $2.5 million through its Veterinary Medical Centre Expansion campaign.
