Small Animal Clinic

Every year, the Small Animal Clinic sees approximately 12,000 animals. Most of these are dogs and cats, although we also care for a large number of birds, rabbits, ferrets, chinchillas, snakes, hamsters, gerbils, hedgehogs, and iguanas and other lizards.

A variety of services are offered through the specialty departments of internal medicine, elective, general and orthopedic surgery, ophthalmology, avian & wildlife medicine, oncology, reproduction, anesthesiology, critical care, and medical imaging.

In addition to caring for your pet, our clinicians teach veterinary students in a clinical setting, prepare and give formal lectures, conduct important research, and provide telephone consultations to veterinarians across Canada. If you have questions or concerns about your pet, we recommend you contact your local veterinarian. Should your veterinarian wish to contact one of our clinicians regarding your pet’s condition, we would be pleased to provide a consultation. If you wish to have your animal seen by one of our clinicians, please contact the receptionists at the Small Animal Clinic to schedule an appointment.
