Teaching and Clinical Areas
Dr. Card is
actively involved in providing clinical service in stallion semen analysis,
collection and shipment of cooled semen, semen freezing, embryo transfer, twin
reduction in mares, managing problem breeding mares, miniature horse fertility
examinations, and managing diseases associated with pregnancy.
Research Interests
Dr. Card is
interested in all aspects of reproduction in many species. She has special
interests in equine reproduction, and she has ongoing research involving brood
mares, stallions and foals.
Her diverse research interests include the following: the pathogenesis of
congenital hypothyroidism dysmaturity syndrome in foals, the use of computer-assisted
ultrasound image analysis, low dose insemination, semen cryopreservation,
fertility of frozen semen and breeding induced inflammation in the mare.
