Teaching and Clinical Areas

Dr. Detmer teaches undergraduate systemic pathology to second-year veterinary students (VT PA 353), necropsy rotation to fourth-year veterinary students (VINT 580), and graduate mammalian pathology (VT PA 820/821/822/823) to graduate students.

Research Interests

Dr. Detmer specializes in molecular and phenotypical characterization of influenza A viruses and her research interests include infectious diseases of swine, particularly influenza A, porcine reproductive and respiratory syndrome (PRRS), and porcine circovirus type 2.
