WESTERN CANADIAN REGIONAL WOMEN'S STUDIES CONFERENCE

FROM BRA BURNERS TO BUFFY: Conversations Among Generations of Feminists

The Department of Women's and Gender Studies at the university of Saskatchewan is hosting a Western Canadian Regional Women's Studies Conference on May 9 - 11th, Arts Building, University of Saskatchewan Campus,  2002 in celebration of our fifth anniversary as a departmental unit.

To reflect the title of our conference, our intention is to reflect on where we have been and where we are going. We hope to explore interconnections among feminists and feminisms across time and place

We are pleased to announce that Judy Rebick has agreed to be our keynote speaker on May 10th, 2002. Judy is publisher of rabble.ca, a new online interactive magazine. She also writes columns in Elm Street magazine, on CBC Online and regular commentaries in the Ottawa Citizen. Judy is probably best know as the President of the National Action Committee on the Status of Women from 1990 to 1993.

Judy has been a long time social activist in the Women's Movement and the pro-choice movement. She is currently working on an anecdotal history of feminism in Canada.

Judy Rebick will be speaking at the Frances Morrison Library Auditorium on Friday May 10th, 2002

Seating: 7:30

Keynote, Judy Rebick   8:00 - 10:00 P.M.
