The Correctional Service of Canada (CSC) is the federal government agency responsible for administering sentences of a term of two years or more, as imposed by the courts. CSC is responsible for managing institutions of various security levels and supervising offenders under conditional release in the community.

The Royal Canadian Mounted Police is the Canadian national police service and an agency of the Ministry of Public Safety Canada. Its mandate includes crime prevention and investigation, law enforcement, and helping to maintain national security.  In Saskatchewan "F" Division provides Provincial, First Nation, Municipal and Federal policing through 83 stand alone detachments with more than 1,300 members who are also involved in a variety of community activities ranging from involvement with crime prevention programs to school liaison and education programs.  This research partnership between the Saskatchewan RCMP and the University of Saskatchewan supports the RCMP mission to preserve peace, uphold the law, and provide quality service in partnership with communities.
