Tools for moving and sharing data.

File sharing and data transfer tools have become staples in researchers' digitial toolbox. ICT provides and support two tools with distinct yet overlappong functions to help researchers share and move data. ownCloud is a web-based tool built into Cabinet and DATASTORE enables files sharing, data movement and synch'ing of data between two storage devices. Geared for a more general audience, it will handle the everyday tasks. Globus, designed to support large file transfer, is geared more towards large datasets and more intesive uses. Both can handle RSEO Research Data Classification standards. See the table below to decide which is best for you.
