The International Research and Partnerships Office is thrilled to announce its first annual People around the World ‘PAW’ Conference.

Aligned with and in support of the UN’s 17 Sustainable Development Goals, faculty, researchers, and students are encouraged to mark February 7, 2018 in their calendars. The one-day program will inspire and provide practicable information on unlocking and fully realizing the potential that internationalizing our research, outreach, and engagement holds. 

Students are encouraged to participate in the PAW 2018 Student Poster Competition; sign-up is available via the event’s registration page and official details are forthcoming.

Keynote speaker: Dr. Alaa Murabit

Dr. Alaa Murabit, medical doctor and UN Global Sustainable Development Goal Advocate, returned home to Saskatchewan to present the keynote address at the University of Saskatchewan's first annual People Around the World (PAW) conference focused on international research and development on Feb. 7, 2018. In this interview, Dr. Murabit, recently named as one of Forbes Magazine's 2017 Forbes 30 Under 30, discusses what needs to be done to ensure access to education for girls, and what stands in the way of global peace.
