The institutional effectiveness team within Institutional Planning and Assessment is responsible for assessing institutional performance against goals and plans, and comparators and benchmarks, as well as unit performance against goals and priorities.
The university’s framework for assessment
Assessment at the University of Saskatchewan is defined as the systematic collection, review, and use of information about educational programs, research performance, and organizational structures undertaken for the purposes of:
- improving student learning and development;
- improving and assuring quality in program and service offerings;
- stimulating creative research and scholarly endeavours; and
- achieving alignment with institution-wide goals.
The University of Saskatchewan has adopted an institution-wide framework for assessment, approved by University Council in November 2008 and the Board of Governors in December 2008. The framework for assessment documents below identify areas of high priority for university-level attention and their implications for the campus community.
