What the registration covers

When you register for the CSA-CSHS-CCA-AIC conference, the registration fees cover the scientific program, program booklet,  abstracts,  promotional bag and materials, Monday opening reception at the Natural Sciences Museum (wine and cheese with one complimentary drink ticket), coffee prior to the opening plenary session on Tuesday morning, morning refreshment/nutrition breaks and lunch on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, the afternoon breaks on Tuesday and Wednesday, and the banquet on Wednesday night.  At the poster sessions on Tuesday and Wednesday afternoons, there will be a cash bar.  For supper on Monday and Tuesday nights you are free to make your own arrangements.  For those wishing to attend only one day, one-day registration fees for Tuesday or Wednesday cover the meetings, the morning and afternoon breaks, and lunch.  Additional banquet tickets can be purchased separately.

Organized tours.  When you sign up for a tour, transportation from a central location will be provided, along with a knowledgeable guide.  For the Monday potash mine tour ($90 per person, runs from early am to 1:30 pm) a bag lunch and cold beverages (water, soft drinks) will be provided.  Local tours (choose one of Tour A, Tour B, Tour C) ($20 per person including refreshments, runs from 1:30 - 5:30 pm) associated with the University of Saskatchewan Campus and Canadian Light Source will have transportation from a central point.  NAFEX (North American Fruit Explorers) tours on Thursday/Friday are managed separately by the University of Saskatchewan’s Fruit program, and for more information on joint Thursday speakers with CSHS and other details, go to NAFEX annual meeting 2012, or the general website NAFEX. (The Thursday CCA Crop Research Tour 2012 and Beyond is cancelled.)


Exhibitors registration  of $350 covers Tuesday and Wednesday breaks, lunch and banquet ticket. Exhibitors can have a display for Tuesday and Wednesday in the poster area.

Additional tickets to the banquet  for one-day registrants, family members,  friends, and NAFEX (North American Fruit Explorers) attendees can be purchased separately.  Registrants for the full conference have their banquet ticket covered already in their registration fees.

Student Travel, Poster and Oral Presentation awards

Student members of the CSA and CSHS are eligible for a travel award to attend the conference and offset some of the costs; these are administered separately by each society. These awards are limited and so apply soon.  Best oral and best poster presentation awards ($400 each) will also be announced at the Wednesday July 18 banquet.

Cancellation policy

Cancellation Policy: Registration fees are refundable with written notice of cancellation postmarked by June 11, 2010, and subject to a $25.00 processing fee. For medical or compassionate grounds, fees may be refundable up to 72 hours prior to the conference. There are no refunds after 72 hours prior to the start of the conference. All cancellations will be subject to a $25.00 processing fee.
