An introduction to sociological analysis of social institutions, relations, and groups, with emphasis on Canadian society. Contemporary and classical perspectives are used to study social structures and processes such as class, gender, race, ethnicity, community, work, education, justice, conflict, cooperation, and change.

Note: SOC 110 is an alternative prerequisite for POLST 252.
SOC 110 is the prerequisite for all 200-level courses in sociology.
