USSU Student Health & Dental Plan
USSU Student Fees Part of your USSU fees go toward the USSU Health & Dental Plan, which was initiated by student referendum to help you pay for the health services you need. All full-time students are automatically enrolled and the cost of the Plan is included in your student fees. Part-time students, off-campus students, and students registered in Term 2 only, are not automatically covered but may enrol within the first two weeks of classes. Contact studentcare.net/works for details.
If you are already covered by another plan (i.e. your parent or spouse’s plan), you can combine this plan with your USSU Plan to maximize your overall coverage and save on health-care costs. Alternately, students with other coverage may choose to opt out within the first two weeks of classes each September by providing proof of alternate equivalent health and dental benefits to studentcare.net/works. Students who register after the course change deadline will not be automatically enrolled and should contact studentcare.net/works for more details. If covered, students also have the opportunity to enrol their spouse or family.
Adjustment of Fees
If you are a full-time student and you are covered by an extended health and/or dental plan, you can opt-out within the first two weeks of classes in September and the Plan fee will be reversed from your student account. Part-time students, off-campus students and students registered in Term 2 only, are not automatically enrolled but may enroll within the first two weeks of classes. If covered, students also have the opportunity to enrol their spouse or family.
